Saschiz Fortified Church is up next on our tour and has been under UNESCO protection since 1999. This Gothic cathedral was completed in 1525 and is dedicated to Saint Stephen of Hungary. The cathedral is a perfect example of how these two elements can be seamlessly blended together. Viscri Fortified Church is undoubtedly the most famous of its kind in Transylvania. This church, located in a  bucholic village that captivated King Charles of Great Britain, is the oldest standing Fortified Church in the region and one of the best preserved. Medieval Citadel of Sighisoara will conclude our day trip. A town steeped in history and birtplace to the infamous ruler Vlad the Impaler, who inspired the character of Dracula. Sighisoara boasts the last continuously inhabited medieval citadel in Eastern Europe and has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1993. As a local born and raised in this town, I’ll give you an authentic perspective and present you all the symbols of this medieval town, including the Clock Tower, Church on the Hill, and even the house where Vlad Tepes was born.
